This very handsome purebred Doberman pup is Jenner. He is considered a Red Doberman. He has the docked tail and dewclaws and the natural ears.
JENNER was born 1-13-2012 and will be available for adoption on 3-24-12. We believe he should be with his 2 siblings until this time so he learn proper play manners, not to be food aggressive and to learn about life with the company and fun of his siblings and the humans who will love and handle him.
In recent decades, the Doberman Pinscher's size, short coat, and intelligence made it a desirable house dog. Their aggression has been toned down by modern breeders over the years, and today's Dobermans are known for a much more even and good natured temperament, extreme loyalty, high intelligence, and great trainability.
They can easily learn to 'Respect and Protect' their owners, and are therefore considered to be excellent guard dogs that protect their loved ones. They are generally sociable toward humans and can be with other dogs. However, Dobermans rank among the more-likely breeds to show aggressive behavior toward strangers and other dogs, but not among the most likely to do so. They are very unlikely to show aggressive behavior toward their owners.
As you can see Dobermans must be in a home where they will receive consistent correct training, exercise, discipline and positive attention from the humans. This breeds dearly loves their family and this is where they want to be....inside and to be a member of the family unit whether than be one person a household with children.
Because of the Dobie's short, velvet hair coat they do not do well being outside only dogs. You must agree to not crop JENNER'S ears and this is extremely painful and not necessary as it does nothing positive for the dog.
JENNER will be an active, want to play and run, fast growing puppy and will need an active person in the home to exercise him. A FENCED YARD IS MANDATORY!!
Because Dobie pups don't know their boundaries they can knock over, jump on and scratch small children which then upsets the parents so we are not placing JENNER in a home with children under about 8 years of age. Please understand.
Because JENNER is far too young to be neutered, you must provide a prepaid neuter receipt from your veterinarian at time of adoption. A home inspection will be done.
There are around 1,300 Dobermans available on Petfinder who have NO HOMES. This is usually because these dogs belonged to the wrong 'owners' and were then given up or dumped. Please know you are the right person or family for this fantastic breed of dog. They are so worth inviting into your home and life.
There is a $300 adoption donation for JENNER. FOR ADOPTION APPLICATION PLEASE EMAIL: lifesaversrescue@live.com
