Jax is a young boy who is about a year old and will make the right family a wonderful companion. He is active, and friendly. He needs training and still jumps on people. He absolutely loves the water, and running. He will only be adopted to a family with a house and securely fenced yard. This type of dog often looses their homes after people buy them and don't realize how active a young one is, how much time keeping their fur nice takes and those who believe they are all hypoallergenic but not all are as they are half Labrador. If allergies are a concern for your family, please do not apply for Jax as we can't guarantee his coat. If you're seeking a "service dog", please just go to a reputable service dog company and acquire one there. If you like training, the water and have no problem with keeping his coat maintained, maybe Jax is the new dog for you.
He's been ok with cats and other dogs. He's not been around young children but it's probably not a good match for him since he does need training and lots of exercise and young kids keep a family busy enough as it is. He whines on car rides but he's always been crated in cars so far. He may be better if loose but we don't know. He will quiet down after a bit and is getting better.
Please do not call or write in asking if he's still available; we won't write or call you back. Once we have an approved application that seems to be a good match for Jax, we will take him off available status.
